Thank you everyone for making this team a great one. We will post the pictures soon.

Stay Tuned,

Coach Armando

Let’s keep up the great vibe and the support!

Standings after the 3rd Game!!!

This past Saturday we had a great match where coach Armando’s team played against coach Rafael’s team. The match was one of the most exciting we had of this season, if not the most exciting. The final score was a tie of 1 goal per team. Both teams played a great match and many attempts to score were made.

In the first time, there was a penalty kick in favor of Coach Rafael’s team, but an outstanding block from goalkeeper Mark saved coach Armando’s team from starting to loose a 1-0. By the second half, the goals came, Melissa, from coach Armando’s squad was the first one to score, but just two minutes after celebrating said goal, Lucas, from coach Rafael’s squad, tied the game. Many other opportunities when by for both teams, but the game stayed with that score. Overall, a great, exciting match.

After the third round of games we have team SWS on first place with nine points, followed by Coach Rafael’s Team with five points and by Coach Armando’s team with four points. Both Sports For Kids teams are doing a great season, but we need to step it up, remember, the first place on the Standings will be the champion, so we need to get that first place!!! 🙂

This Saturday’s game are as follows:

Coach Rafael’s team (SFK) vs.  SWS

Coach Armando’s team (SFK) vs. Global

See you there at 9:30. Please be early, remember we need to warm up, give the players instructions on positions and form of play. Game starts at 9:50a.m.

GO KNIGHTS!!!

Standings!!!

After the second game played, these are the standings. Sports For Kids teams are in 2nd and 3rd position. Our next game will define who will remain at the top of the game!!! See you on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. on the field. Kickoff starts exactly at 9:50 a.m.

Second Game of the Season!!!

The second game of the season for both U8 Sports For Kids teams was great.

Coach Armando’s team won with an outstanding 3-1 score over Jogo Bonito. The goals were a great hat-trick done by Julian. Overall the team effort was great and we got to see the improvement we had from the first game.

Coach Rafael’s team won 1-0 against CSO with a great goal performed by Samuel from the penalty kick. The team played well and the coach was satisfied with its performance but knows there is a lot of room for improvement.

Next Game is on Saturday October 16, 2010 when Coach Rafael’s Team plays against Coach Armando’s Team. It will be a great match to see and the first “classic” match for Sports For Kids.

———————————–

Exchanging Ideas

Last Wednesday after practice, I went to the Bank of America tower for the Mexico’s Bicentennial Independence celebration. After being there for a while, Javier Aguirre showed up, and as a soccer fan, I had to go talk to him and exchange ideas about soccer!

Javier Aguirre is a former professional player but is mostly know for having been the Manager/Coach of well known professional teams such as Club Atlético Osasuna and Club Atlético de Madrid from the Spanish league “La Liga” as well as being the coach for the Mexican National Team in the past 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Great experience having been there and knowing him and wanted to share this with you.

See you on Monday at practice!

———————————————————————————————-

Vamos Miami…!!!

Saturday night we went to the Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale to see the Miami F.C. play against  the Montreal Impact. It was an amazing night for Ian and our family. We had so much fun, we were cheering, chanting, playing the drums; Ian even went and high-fived the players at the half-time and at the end of the game. To be sincere, it was a unique experience. We are sure we will be back on September 25th to see the game against the Rochester Rhinos.

Do not miss this great opportunity to make our local team grow and to have fun watching an exciting professional game. If you want to join us for the September 25th match, be sure to let us know so we can arrange a trip.

Take a look at the pictures we took and check out the match highlights.

By the way… Miami won 2-1… Greeeat!

Viva Miami….!!!!
